Canada's finally getting on the band wagon and switching to Polymer bills in an effort to combat counterfeiting which is believed to be around 470 bills out of every million. Like many other government documents over recent years (such as Alberta Birth Certificates) these bills feature clear panels and many other security features in an effort to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. More info is here. The new bills, due into circulation today, will look and feel quite different but they're going to be around for a long time so we'd better get used to them. I haven't seen one yet, most of us won't for a little while as they'll take some time to filter down through the system, but by the time the $50 bill is out in March I'm sure we'll all be familiar.
Now if only I could get my hands on some...
We had a dream, like so many others before us, to live a simple and sustainable life on our own organic farm... so we drove from Vancouver Island, British Columbia to the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, and we've been here nearly 6 years. We love life, learning, and sharing with others. Follow our adventures as we build a vibrant small family farm and work towards self-sufficiency using a combination of traditional methods, permaculture and original ideas.
